About Us
Welcome to Vitae242, where the sun-kissed vibes of The Bahamas meet the vibrant creativity of our founder, Reagan! With 32 years of sewing magic under her belt, Reagan's heart beats to the rhythm of the islands, crafting breezy, resort-style wear that wraps you in the warmth of Bahamian culture.
From the time she was a small child, weekends were spent in her grandmother’s cozy sewing haven. This soft-spoken seamstress taught Reagan the art of stitching, crotchet, and all things crafty. Little Reagan would watch in awe as her grandma transformed fabric into beautiful creations, always eager to learn. When she’d return home, she’d sit at the dining room table, mesmerized by her mother’s sewing skills. Spotting her daughter’s keen interest, Reagan’s mom gifted her a kiddie sewing machine, but it soon became clear: this girl needed the real deal!
Once Reagan got her hands on her mother’s machine, the magic began. She whipped up seasonal collections for her Barbie dolls, using all the tricks her grandma and mom taught her. She'd often sneak into clothing boutiques just to study their stitching from the changing booths, soaking up every detail like sunshine on her skin.
As time passed, her talent blossomed into something special. Reagan began designing her own daily wear and sharing her chic styles and sewing tips on her blog, Sew She Made (formerly Kama Sewtra). Her flair caught the attention of fashion lovers, racking up over 50,000 Pinterest views a month! With encouragement from her growing community on Instagram, Reagan took the leap to start her own line, and voilà—Vitae242 was born!
Fueled by her deep love for The Bahamas and her career in tourism, Reagan envisioned Vitae as a celebration of Bahamian culture, weaving together the colorful threads of native flora, historical gems, and everyday island life. Each piece she creates is infused with her family's legacy, bringing a slice of Bahamian paradise to your wardrobe.
